So very interesting! I never see this sort of analysis anywhere else. The geniuses in Washington have done it again! Driven a true partner into the arms of a different lover!

Thanks for this analysis, I read both of your posts every morning, and learn a great deal every day. This is information I don’t see anywhere else.

I know Dr. Carney will take advantage of this US gift. We see Germany and LNG, India and more Canada trade, and Sweden and GlobalEye. The world needs to follow Canada’s example. Build durable corridors with friendly nations outside US power. Invest in your own citizens. Stop subsidizing expensive US stock and bond markets.

We’ll see the move accelerate once the US AI stock bubble pops. Normal returns will seem great compared to negative returns.

Thank you Shankar, another gem analysis, and very much appreciated. Love your graphs by the way, super helpful and easy to follow. More good news for Canada.

I wanted to also mention that our aluminum, and also our steel, are very high quality products, and in demand. I hadn't heard too much complaining in the aluminum sector lately, now I see why. Our aluminum producers have the lowest carbon footprint of the world's major producers as its produced using mostly hydroelectricity. And since the USA cannot throw up a hydroelectric dam easily they've imported our aluminum instead.

As one poster noted, it's a power hungry industry, and requires water to refine. Since the USA is trying to throw up massive data centers, also needing massive amounts of water, the USA appears to be focusing on that industry despite the push back from states, and the public in those states who don't want these massive data centers.

Our steel sector is still having issues, but I hope with the recent procurement, and agreements we're making including building here this will solve that sooner rather than later for our industries.

Also, may I please have access to your other Concis? I would appreciate it :-)

One thing that I did not see mentioned is that the US does not currently have the extra electricity to refine aluminum. AI data centers are sucking up every available watt, and are building more natural gas plants to provide the power, not to mention SMRs, and apparently Microsoft is looking at re-activating the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant.

Excellent encapsulation of the current state of Canadian Aluminum sales! There are some instances in which Canada could engage in licensing agreements with overbooked European manufacturers using aluminum products, to have the aluminum portion assembled in Canada I believe PM Carney is working toward that goal! Cheers!

Tell us unfortunate Americans how we cash out and reinvest in Canada assuming we’re not the rich Americans who are doing this to us.

John, since my small investments are within retirement accounts, I have few choices to invest directly in Canada. If you are NOT limited that way, you could find the Canadian exchanges, find investment brokers who service that or those exchanges, identify the Canadian companies you wish to invest in, open your account and go. Good wishes!

Typical Trumpian tactics. Make big noise with tariffs, but fail to solve foundational issues that prevent US from reshoring manufacturing.

Another opportunity! Driven by necessity, but the problem becomes the answer.

There is a grief in agreeing that this must be done, knowing your people will pay the price.

He said the other he doesn’t care about the midterms. Not that I pay attention to what he says as it is lie after lie but when he said that I heard « he will be 6 feet under by then ». A gal can hope.
